Does anyone have to pick up their dog’s poop?

I really want a dog and I know how to train it but the only thing I’m worried about is picking up its poop. I live in a small town and we only have one dog-poop dispenser and picking it up off the ground will be gross. What do I do with it until I get to the poop dispenser? What do you do?
How many times do dogs poop on each walk? Only once right?

Carry plastic bags with you. When they poop, wrap the bag around your hand, pick up the poop, then pull the bag back over your hand and the poop and tie it off.

It’s just poop, it’s not going to kill you!!
